Add Tello to your website

Paste one line into your website. A round Tello button appears in the corner of every page, and customers can chat with it.

Your line of code

It is on your private Tello page and in the email we sent when you set up Tello. It looks like this:

<script src="https://tello.live/embed/YOUR-ID.js" async></script>

No Tello yet? Set one up, free for 7 days.

Pick your website builder

WordPress
  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add New, and install the free plugin WPCode.
  2. Open Code Snippets, then Header & Footer.
  3. Paste your line into the Footer box and click Save Changes.

On WordPress.com, plugins need a plan that allows them (Creator, formerly Business, or higher). On a lower plan, share your chat link instead (see the last option).

Wix
  1. In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings and open Custom Code (under Advanced or Development & integrations).
  2. Click Add Custom Code and paste your line.
  3. Choose All pages, place the code in Body - end, and click Apply.

Wix only allows custom code on a paid plan with your own domain connected.

Squarespace
  1. Search your Squarespace menu for Code Injection and open it.
  2. Paste your line into the Footer box.
  3. Click Save.

Code Injection needs a Squarespace plan that includes it. If you cannot find it, share your chat link instead.

Shopify
  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store, then Themes.
  2. Next to your current theme, click the ... button and choose Edit code.
  3. Open theme.liquid (in the Layout folder), paste your line just above </body>, and click Save.
Webflow
  1. In Webflow, open your site's Site settings, then Custom code.
  2. Paste your line into the Footer code box and click Save.
  3. Publish your site.

Custom code needs a paid Webflow site plan.

Your own website or a web designer
  1. Paste your line just above the closing </body> tag of your pages, or in the shared footer.
  2. Publish the change.

Working with a web designer? Send them this page and your line.

No place for code (GoDaddy builder, Facebook, Google Business)
  1. Copy your chat page link (tello.live/b/...).
  2. Add a button or link called Chat with us on your website and point it to that link.
  3. You can also put the link in your Google Business profile, Instagram or Facebook bio, emails and text replies.

Customers get the same Tello, on its own page.

Check that it works

Open your website in a new window. The round Tello button should be in the bottom right corner. Click it and ask a question a customer would ask. Changes can take a few minutes to show on some builders. Builders sometimes rename their menus; if a step does not match, search their help for "add custom code".

Does the button cover something at the bottom of your site, like a cookie notice or a menu? Add data-bottom="80" to your line (for example <script src="…" data-bottom="80" async>) to lift it 80 pixels.
